Frequently Asked Questions

How can I leave the dock always opened ?

Move the mouse inside A-Dock to auto-expand it. Then click on the handle (small bar below the icons, at the horizontal middle of the dock) while holding the option key. The cursor will change into a key-lock for half a second, and will then go back to an arrow, to show you that the dock has been locked in the open position.

Can I change the skin without opening A-Dock Control ?

Just drag&drop the skin file onto the A-Dock handle (small bar below the icons, at the horizontal middle of the dock).

Can I access the opened windows of each application within A-Dock?

That's possible if you install “Wapp pro” another of my sharewares. Wapp pro is a window switcher, and A-Dock can take advantage of Wapp pro's features.
Click here to go to Wapp pro's web page.

Is it possible to make a transparent skin ?

No, sorry it's not possible at all. I know that PowerWindows can make menus translucent and that some MP3 players have translucent skins, but having a floating window translucent is much more complex. The Mac OS is not done for that at all, but fortunately, Mac OS X's Quartz engine is near....

I can't add anything to A-Dock. I shift-drag an application, but it doesn't stay in A-Dock. What should I do ?

You probably have locked A-Dock settings by mistake. Check in the main contextual menu. If the last command is "Unlock Settings", then choose this command, and you'll be able to add favorites again.
